I spend a lot of time walking around in the woods and talking to trees, squirrels, and little rabbits and stuff. In nature, dead trees are just as normal as live trees. La- da- da- da- dah. Just be happy. And that’s when it becomes fun – you don’t have to spend your time thinking about what’s happening – you just let it happen. Work that paint. That’s what painting is all about. It should make you feel good when you paint.
Get tough with it, get strong. How to paint. That’s easy. What to paint. That’s much harder. Everybody’s different. Trees are different. Let them all be individuals. There isn’t a rule. You just practice and find out which way works best for you. You can’t have light without dark. You can’t know happiness unless you’ve known sorrow.
